Long Pass Meps Drug Test

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How long does the Military Entrance Processing Station take to send you a letter if you passed?
Do they do the drug test and the blood test that same day? I heard that if you swear in then it means that you passed everything including the blood and urine tests. IS THAT TRUE?

Do they send you a letter in the mail if you passed or failed? How long does it take? 1-3 days?

If i took 5 drug tests at the recruiters office and passed them all does that mean i passed MEPS drug test?

    • ANSWER:
I went to MEPS before I joined the Army active and than again before joining the Navy reserves. It's a long long day in MEPS. I did everything in one day, drug/blood test, physical, job selection, etc. It takes a couple of days to get drug and blood test back. MEPS sends the results to your recruiter. I did drug test at the recruiters but I still had to do the drug test at MEPS.

  2. QUESTION:
How many nanograms of THC does a meps Drug test, test for?
I quit smoking a few weeks ago and passed a home test but that tests for 50 Naograms of THC in your system. How many nanograms does a Meps drug test, test for?
Also, ill be going to meps for the Air Force

    • ANSWER:
Wow, I cannot believe how many people are asking this question today...lol... And I cannot believe how many people are answering it with the wrong answer. I used to work for the company that supplied the drug testing equipment to the MEPS. One person says the Navy tests for whatever, yea, from what I have seen it is mostly Navy personnel that are working at the MEPS stations and doing the screenings of things.

Anyway, I usued to work for the company that supplies the testing equipment to the MEPS stations and also that the place where the active duty units send thier urine to to be tested.

They test down to 0 (zero) nanogarms!!...lol Not 30, then 20 or anything else. They are wanting to make sure that there are no other drug toxins in the candidates blood.

And to the person that says that they don't test for THC, that is a load. That is one of the main things that they test for. Lol. that is one of the main thigns that people fail the test because of.

Anyway, just don't go down to MEPS till you have waited about 30-45 days after the last time you smoked. If you are a heavier set person or if you were a very avid smoke (like everyday for years) then I would wait a week or two longer than that. Get a home drug test kit and take it. That will give you somewhat of an idea how you will do, although it only tests to the 50 nanograms.

It also does not matter what branch of service you are trying to get into, you all have the same standards that everyoen is held to. Zero tolerance for drugs. That means your body has to be totally clean of substances.

      Good luck

  3. QUESTION:
If you have a marijuana license does it bar you from joining the military?
I live in Colorado and I know many people who went and got a marijuana license easily. I was just wondering if they did that are they barred from joining the military or does that not matter as long as they pass the drug tests at MEPS?

    • ANSWER:
      yes.

one, the military does recognize the validy of MM cards

therefore.. you use MJ, you are in violation of state and federal law, furthermore any condition you have that requires the use of MM is a DQ

  4. QUESTION:
How could i pass any test thrown at me?
How to pass a really sensitive drug test? I took one hit of marijuana two nights ago and am wondering how long it will take to where i could pass any test the military MEPS could throw at me, and how can i make sure it is out of my system?

    • ANSWER:
Standard detection time for single marijuana use and urine test is 1-4 days ... from 1 hit you probably was good to pass on the next day a standard urine test with 50 ng/ml thc cut off level for detection If by sensitive you mean lower cut offs for detection ( 15 or 20 or 30 ng/ml) ... military use lower cut offs some times ..i think 3-5 days is more then safe for 1 hit. However if you have previous usage you can take a home test using your first morning urine (have the highest concentration) and thc home test kit you will find at any pharmacy (cut off is 50 ng/ml).
Also check out this link .... clinical study its old but still can give you an idea.
Same for other fluid tests like saliva, blood ...3-4 days is safe for 1 hit . Hair test ... standard detection is 90 days but 1 hit is not much and i don't think meps hair tested on regular base ... anyway after passing urine test (no thc in your blood to redeposit in hair) you can shave your head (chest, arm pit, legs also because if you don't have at least 1 inch head hair they will collect body hair) the growing up hair will be clean.
And key elements for any Detoxification are physical activity, proper hydration and good nutritional intake ... so stay active, drink at least half of your body weight in ounces water per day ,for example 60 oz daily if you are 120 lb and at least take good daily multivitamins/ supplements.

  5. QUESTION:
How does the Navy do drug testing?
I'll be honest, I did my fair share of smoking weed. I'm not a chronic smoker at all. I do it maybe once a month maybe less. I know I did it last month and haven't been near it since then.

I recently talked to a recruiter about joining the Navy. When would I be given the drug test? MEPS or the recruiter's office?..And would I pass? How long does it stay in my system?
    Thanks everyone!

    • ANSWER:
By urinalysis just like every other branch. The "official" test will be at MEPS when you do your physical. A smart Recruiter will give you an at-home test in the office to make sure you are clean before wasting time shipping you to MEPS. You can also do it yourself by buying a kit from Wal Mart.

In theory you will be clean in 30 days of non-use..on average.

I would wait at least 60-90 days to be sure. You pop hot at MEPS and you will be disqualified from every branch forever.

You will be randomly tested several times per year once in the military. You pop hot then and the consequences are much, much more severe.

  1. QUESTION:
How hard is the shooting part in Marine boot camp?
I'm 17 and i just enlisted in the Marines. How hard is the shooting part in boot camp? i have never fired a weapon in my life and i just wanted to know. also do you have to have like extremely good eyesight for it? because i have better eye sight in my right eye than in my left and at meps when i took the vision test i couldn't see the part in my left eye and she changed something to where i look down and then i passed it? info please?
    what is the quarter deck?

    • ANSWER:
When I went through Parris Island, most of us (79 recruits in a platoon) were city guys. The only thing we knew about rifles was the trigger. That's it! But we all qualified on the rifle range. By the time you finish boot camp, you will know plenty about your rifle. You will know how to take in apart (blindfolded), know how to repair it, and know how to aim and fire like an expert. Regardless of your civilian background. In boot camp, the training emphasizes rifle marksmanship, obedience, physical training, and loyalty. It's not just about joining a military unit, it's about being part of a brotherhood. In the Marine Corps, we speak in naval terminology. The 'deck' is the floor. The wall is the 'bulkhead', the bed is the 'rack', going upstairs is 'going topside', going downstairs is 'going below', etc., etc. After boot camp, that language becomes second nature to you. A quarter deck is a part of a ship. Stop worrying, you'll do fine. You've already made the most important step. All other steps are a question of stamina and desire. You'll be fine. ps: Not to worry about your shooting capabilities. Before you ever fire your rifle, you'll be very, very familiar with every part and use of your rifle. For sure. Good Luck.

  2. QUESTION:
After passing the ASVAB how long before MEPs?
I'm taking the ASVAB Monday for the GED Plus Program. How soon after the test is passed will I go to MEPs?

    • ANSWER:
Once you pass that and the AIMS test then you can join almost right away. As long as your background check comes back clean you can physical and join later on in the week. Considering how few slots are left for the GED Plus (assuming you are going active or reserves, the National Guard has a different amount than us) they will try to push you through as quickly as possible.

  3. QUESTION:
Can someone help me join the air force with asthma?
Im planning to join the air force but i had asthma when i was a kid.
my first asthma attack was when 3-5 years old and my mom heard me wheezing those days.
my last attack was between 7-8years old.
i dont really need inhalers but there was a doctor that recommended my mom to buy an inhaler.(so my mom bought two)
i dont have any breathing problems when i was a kid --until now.
but i am just worried that i might get sick (during active duty) and my wheezing might come back.

i also got sick during my childhood years.
    got colds/fever/cough/sneezing/headache..etc
^im not sure if the air force considers these as traces of asthma

    additional info:
I can run 3 Miles in 30 minutes. -No Breathing Problems/No Inhalers.
I can do 30 push ups in 1 minute
^I am aiming for warhawk and I can still improve my results

    So my questions are:
    1. what if i passed the Pulmonary Function Test and my doctor cleared me from asthma, does it mean that i am qualified now?
    2. and the methacoline challenge test, can it increase my chance to be accepted at meps?
    3. Do i need to be cleared by 3 Doctors to be qualified at MEPS?
    3. what are the other tests that can increase my chance to be qualified?
    4. what are their basis for disqualifying applicants with asthma?
    5. can my problems can still disqualify me in the air force?

    What should I do?
    SUGGESTIONS?

    Thanks :)

    • ANSWER:
I was diagnosed with asthma while I was in the AF and wasn't allowed to stay in... If you get asthma while you are in they will put you on a profile; which is a duty restriction. In my case, I was not allowed to run or be exposed to anything that could exacerbate my wheezing. Didn't really apply to me since I worked in inside all day, lol.

Anyway, when I talked to a recruiter before I joined up they were only concerned about anything after age 13. I never had asthma before until I was in the Air Force. So just know if you are diagnosed while you are in it will have an impact on what you are allowed to do and might get you medically separated. (or retired)

  4. QUESTION:
my husband is going to MEPS and I ant to know what the aimes test is?
my husband is joining the army and he has to take the aimes test before he can swear in, anyone know if its easy, hard or anything about it, if so please give me some info. take care

    • ANSWER:
The Aims test is for those who are going in with a GED (at least that's why I took it). The real purpose of the test is to check for honesty. When he takes it, he'll notice that some of the questions will be the same as before but worded differently. Nothing to worry about! I was worried about it before I took it because I didn't know what it was. They say that there is no pass or fail when you take it..but when I took it they came in and told the SFC that I passed...strange. And yes...it's very easy. Just be honest.

  5. QUESTION:
Trying to join the military, already passed all test.?
I have my G.E.D i passed the military aims test required for those whom have their GEDs wanting to join. ive passed my asvab with a 55 and my full physical at MEPS. now im waiting on a GED slot to open for the army active duty (what my recruiter tells me) then i can join, im really just trying to get in asap tho can any other branch or army reserve or anything get me in quicker?

    • ANSWER:
You need 15 college credits to enlist with a GED.

Even then, you still may not get in. The military has plenty of recruits and they only accept high school diplomas and college degrees.

How To Pass Meps Hearing Test

Many men and women consider getting plastic surgery due to many perceived imperfections or flaws in their body. On the other hand there are also some individuals who really need operations to improve and restore the function and form of their bodies. There are so many advantages and disadvantages under the different procedures that fall under it.

Advantages
The biggest merit that can be attributed to any cosmetic operation is the satisfaction and the joy that usually comes with a successful operation. Most patients who go under the knife come out from the recovery period satisfied and full of praise for their doctors. The improvement itself is another physical and mental advantage that gives the patient much confidence and eases her worries.

Plastic surgery also gives back, either fully or partially, the form and function that a damaged organ or part of the body may have had. Many deformed children and adults experience normalcy after reconstructive procedures that are aimed to help them.

Disadvantages
Despite the general optimism that patients usually have for their procedures, there are risks that accompany these. The risks and complications that can happen during and after the operation are some of the biggest disadvantages of plastic surgery. During surgery, the patient can bleed excessively or react adversely to the anesthetic used on her.

Cases like these can basically escalate to a dangerous situation that may turn out fatal or dangerous for the patient. Other disadvantages of the procedure are the dissatisfaction that comes when the patient has high expectations that are not met by the operation. This is where it is emphasized by the doctors that the patient should not have unrealistic expectations regarding the changes that the surgery can bring.

Overall, plastic surgery is safe but it is expensive. If your only option to fix a problem is plastic surgery then it is well worth the money. For example, a lot of women who experience stretched skin from pregnancy opt in for tummy tucks to fix the problem because they cannot fix it on their own. Or if you have been in an accident and you need reconstructive surgery to fix injuries you have obtained, it may be well worth the money. But, if you are having self confidence issues plastic surgery may not be worth the money.

The overall advantages of any cosmetic procedure are greater than the disadvantages. This is probably because many of the disadvantages can be prevented avoided through modern medicine. Tests and screenings can also help to establish if the person is a viable candidate to undergo certain operations. Advancement in medicine and science has made so many procedures safe and reduced the risks of some.

  4. QUESTION:
How hard is the hearing test at MEPS?
For a normal person with normal hearing.

Are the beeps faint? Can they barely be heard? My health overall is pretty clean, except my hearing might be a little bad since I'm a musician. I took a hearing test one year ago and passed, but I don't know...

    • ANSWER:
I'm a musician as well and was concerned about this before I went into MEPS. I can pick up on most things but I tend to miss the minute sounds from far off distances. Anyhow, you shouldn't be worried. The beeping sounds are extremely faint and you will miss a whole lot of them. Everyone does. Half of the time I couldn't tell if I was actually hearing something or imagining it. As long as you don't have any serious hearing damage, you should be fine.

  5. QUESTION:
How hard is it to get a waiver passed for bad hearing in the army?

  1. QUESTION:
Joining the army MEPs physical question?
I am a little nervous about passing the MEPs physical. I am worried about the height weight ratio. I am 6"2 and 211. I don't look it, so maybe that might help. I am 17 years old. Please help from people who know about this.

  2. QUESTION:
Is it possible to become an Officer in the military after being pulled over for a DUI? Without being convicted?
I have been in the process of applying to OTS with the air force for over a year. However I am looking to go into intelligence in any branch now.
    I am male 25
Bachelors of Science, Agricultural Science and Masters, International Affairs, Pennsylvania State University
    No other law violations
    passed Meps physical
Possessed a Temporary Secret Clerance with the State Department
Under a year of experience with a Government contractor

    • ANSWER:
Unless you were found not guilty the Air Force will hold it against you. The AF performs FBI background investigations, so it will show things you were arrested for, charged with, cited for regardless of whether charges were dropped, dismissed, expunged or whatever. The AF view is dropped charges just means the DA couldn't prove it or didn't want to take the time, it doesn't mean you didn't do it. Only way to not have it held against you is a Not Guilty determination. In the AF you need to qualify for at least a SECRET clearance but obviously for intel jobs its a TOP SECRET.

  3. QUESTION:
Will I pass Military Entrance Processing Station?
I had a small amount of blood in my urine last time I got a physical. The doc just told me to drink more water. So should I pass the MEPS physical?

    • ANSWER:

  4. QUESTION:
Navy jobs that do not require normal color vision?
I have a 92 asvab score and have passed my meps physical just fine. Only problem is the meps doctors say I have a slight red/green color deficiency. Never knew this before meps. Does anyone have a list of Navy jobs that do not require normal color vision? I was originally recruited for the coast guard but they have very few jobs for color deficiency (only 4). Any help would be greatly appreciated

    • ANSWER:
A lot of jobs are closed to you, but you still have some options: crypto jobs, Seabee, cook, corpsman and logistics specialist are open to people with color vision deficiencies. There are probably some others, but that's what I know off the top of my head. I couldn't find a list for you, sorry.

Cryptologic jobs are good jobs with fast advancement. My husband (also color blind) started out as a CTR (cryptologic technician - collection), then cross rated to CTI (cyptologic technician - interpretive). He made first class in just under 5 years. As a CTR, he was stationed in Hawaii and got to travel all over the place: Australia, Japan, Singapore, Russia, the Middle East. As a CTI, he spent two years in Monterey learning Arabic and now we're stationed stateside. He loves both.

Good luck... and talk to your recruiter! S/he should be able to tell you what jobs are possibilities.

  5. QUESTION:
Will I not be able to ship out to boot camp because of this?
I already passed my first MEPS physical with no problems. Only thing the doctor had to look at was a pilonidal cyst that I had surgery on. At that point the cyst was still there but it was extremely small and not draining or giving me any issues.

Fast forward 5 months (& 7 days before shipping) I wake up to the cyst being a little inflamated. It isn't draining or painful, it's as it was before just a little swollen and irritated.

Do you think I'll be disqualified at the 2nd MEPS physical?

    • ANSWER:
      Take the following action:

Buy a large curved "sailmaker's" needle and an X-acto knife.

Buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.

Using sterile cotton, swab the area with alcohol. Disinfect the X-acto knife and needle with alcohol.

Using the X-acto knife and a mirror, cut the cyst open...careful of the depth.

Pour hydrogen peroxide on the wound.

Using the sailmaker's needle, drag it through the cavity and get the debris out.

Rinse again with hydrogen peroxide and then with alcohol.

Put a pad of gauze there until the wound stops bleeding/draining. Use triple antibiotic cream and change the pads twice a day.

It worked for me when surgery would have involved splitting my tailbone and six months recovery time. Hurt a little, too.

Pass Meps Physical Exam

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How does MEPS relate to civilian physicals?
I am considering entering the military, but I don't want to get my heart set on it until I know if I can pass the physical exam part of MEPS. Several members of my family have been disqualified by various bodily defects. Is there any civilian physical that I could get in advance that might parallel closely enough that I could know in advance? If so, what is it called? Where might I be able to get it? (Doctor's office, hospital, health department, clinic. Etc. Etc.)

    • ANSWER:
Very few, if any, private physical exams closely resemble a MEPS physical. The best thing for you to do is to BE HONEST with full disclosure on the history part of the exam. If you are not honest, it could result in alot of legal trouble for you. Relax and just follow the instructions during the physical.
The military is very thorough at the MEPS facility because it's main concern is YOUR SAFETY and your ability to withdstand the physical demands of training and service. If you are disqualified, it's for your own benefit and better to have that happen EARLY in the process than later when you are already in training.

  2. QUESTION:
I have razor bumps and scaring around my pubic area, will this mess with my Meps process?
I have been shaving for about six years around my (vajayjay) i have a lot of excessive hair growing, razor bumps and scarring. I am going to Meps for the army in about a month in a half. I was wondering if this will conflict with me qualifying for joining the army and passing the physical exam. I am waiting for some skin treatment i have ordered, and i am taking antibioitcs to get rid if the inflamation causing the the bumps. But i am not sure that bumps and scars will be gone in a month in a half. Can anyone help me with this process. Maybe i should wait it off till the infection and scarring is gone?

    • ANSWER:
Here's how to shave your pubes: 1st pluck/wax some of them while they're long. Cut the hairs short. Apply shaving cream or conditioner to the pubic area. Then shave upwards in the opposite direction of the hairs with a 5-bladed razor. Be sure to shave hard to make it smooth. Afterwords to avoid getting beginners side effects wash the area off with acne cleanser, dishwasher soap, or rubbing alcohol. It only takes me 5 minutes to shave that & I shave about 3x a week. If done right you will be incredibly smooth like me. If you do experience beginners side effects don't panic! just put acne cream on the bumps, pop them if you can, keep up the shaving routine, & they should go away within a month. That's just a reaction cause your body isnt used to being hairless there. Even I itched & burned when I 1st started. Also try rubbing one of those skin moisturizing bar soaps on the area after you shave it. That'll make it really soft. Also when my facial razor gets dull I switch it to my body razor.

You can also get it removed permanently with electrolysis which is painful & costs an hour. I've gotten 3 treatments on mine. Email me for more info about it.

Here's the benefits of hair removal: The absence of it is erotic, sensational, & it's easier to sexually relieve yourself. You'll feel sexier, younger, & cleaner. For girls it makes their periods easier to clean up because the hair traps in blood. It's cleaner because hair traps in odors & dirt & is 1 less thing to wash when you take a shower. One of the reasons I started shaving is because I would kill time twirling the hairs when I saw that area. Pubes can get caught in stuff like your zipper. & you won't leave long gross hairs on stuff like toilets. The only real con is that it takes time & maintance. But then alot of hairy people spend that time doing other worthless stuff like smoking.

I've got a blog posted on my profile about why there's nothing wrong with pubic hair removal (or body hair removal on either sex) that you & everybody else should read. & fyi you don't need to be sexually active to shave that area. I have friends that are complete prudes that are into body hair removal.

I hope I am helping people by answering these questions. If you don't wanna pick my answer as best at least let me know if my advice has helped you.

  3. QUESTION:
Whats the percentage rate of someone getting turned down at MEPS?
How many people at MEPS fail the physical and the exams over there. Is it a high rate or a low rate for someone to pass? Is it like 90% of the people pass or something like that.

    • ANSWER:
The percentage of people that get to meps and then get turned down is very low. When someone wants to join, they go through a rigorous screening process before they even get to meps. If your recruiter has done his or her job properly, you have been medically prescreened, you meet the moral and mental requirements, and you should make it through. There are things that are beyond our control, for example you might fail the eye exam, have protein in your urine, have a marker on a blood test, etc, but most of the time, that is nothing more than some additional medical testing and you are cleared. sometimes a waiver is required.

Overall the percentage of peopel being disqualified at meps SHOULD be very low if recruiters are doing their jobs properly.....

you should be disqualified long before you make it to meps

  4. QUESTION:
Why does the Military check the Anus in the physical?
I am curious as to why the military checks the anus in the military physical at MEPS. I passed exam and everything i just want to know the reason for that part of the exam. i was told that it was to make sure you were not homosexual but i dont see how that is relevant Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
because the civilian Doctor gets his thrills sticking his finger up your turd hole! then smells his finger while you are not looking!

If his whole fist fits up your anus without difficulty, then he knows that you are a homosexual!

TO CHECK FOR HEMORRHOIDS,PILES & YOUR PROSTATE and Any other abnormalities that might DQ you from military service!!!

He also checks your nutsack & gonads, he rolls it around his fingers then tells you to cough - to detect hernias!

  5. QUESTION:
What does a MEPS physical examination consist of?
For women, what goes on while getting your physical at MEPS? I have heard that it is necessary for you to get a pap smear and full pelvic examination from some people, and others say that the doctor isn't so thorough when dealing with your exam. Which is true? And as of now, 2011, is a pap smear necessary to pass? What else do I have to look forwards to at MEPS?

    • ANSWER:
Connor is correct, you don't need a pap smear. I went at the beginning of this month and all they do is check your breasts, pee test with a female watching you (MAKE sure you don't use the bathroom and if you do make sure it's only once. I had a problem trying to go when I had to because I used it twice before the exam so make sure you drink a lot of water.) breathing, breathalizer test, take blood, quick peak down below, eyes, ears, feet, the DR will ask you questions, then she'll take you into a room with the other females and you'll be in your bra and underwear doing various exercises like duck walking, rotating your arms, feet, and legs, walking fast, etc.

How To Pass Meps

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Will I pass MEPS if I have had a concussion and wrist surgery?
I had wrist surgery in November of 2006 and have fully recovered minus an ugly scar. No problems or doctor visits since my surgery.

I also hit my head and got a concussion in October of 2008 but also have had no issues since the incident.

I haven't heard back from my recruiter as to if I have passed my pre screening, but I also worry about passing MEPS if I do get the go-ahead with the pre screening.

    • ANSWER:
Those aren't health issues that are vital to the MEPS portion of the pre-screening. If you get passed through the pre-screening, most likely you'll get past the MEPS. It's not like you've had depression or suicidal thoughts on medical documents. You broke a bone. You'll get through.

Fill out all paperwork TRUTHFULLY. Unless they ask you about it, don't offer the information to them. If paperwork asks if you've had any surgery or trauma within so many years, then write it down. If you don't, and they check your medical records later, you might (i emphasize *might*) get discharged and charged w/ a felony for fraudulently enlisting.

      You'll make it in... :)

  2. QUESTION:
I have microtia on both ears makes them look like elf ears hearing is good but can i pass USAF meps?
I have Microtia on both ears my hearing is fine just my ears look very much like elf ears and are very difficult to hide. I want to join the Air Force but would like to know if i would pass MEPS lookin like elf.

    • ANSWER:
As long as your hearing is unaffected you should be fine. MEPS wont fail you just because your ears are pointed.

  3. QUESTION:
What are some things that would cause me to not pass MEPS?
I have Meps next week and I was wondering besides failing the drug test what else are they looking for that could cause you to not pass MEPS?

    • ANSWER:
Ashma, that's the biggest one. If you had it, forget you had it.
Don't mention prior drug use, at all.
Honestly, unless you're missing a finger or your arm, you're good. Those are the biggest killer. Well, unless you have an STD, STI, or AIDS. Those can screw you too,

  4. QUESTION:
so i passed meps but i was wondering if i get married will my security clearance be effected?
so i passed meps! yay! I was assigned a job that requires a security clearance and was wondering if I got married to my fiance would it effect me negatively? I ask this only because my fiance had a recent bankruptcy, and has been discharged from the airforce active duty. Will this effect my chances of securing the job i want??? please help!

    • ANSWER:
Possibly. Depending on the type of clearance required and the job you are enlisting for. Since i don't know either its best that you talk to your recruiter as he or she are better suited to answer that question.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Do home drug test kits really work compared to meps drug testing?
about to go to walgreens to get one. im curious how accurate they really are, or what the best brand is, but more than that if theyre really accurate. is because its a home drug test kit that its not as good as a meps piss test?
i have stopped taking drugs. ive stopped doing them for the rest of my life because im joining the Army. i want to put all my energy into being a good Soldier. ive been clean for about 5 weeks. im just wondering about the home drug test kits.

    • ANSWER:
Listen to the wise men. I can tell you that smoking dope will only lead to bad news. Bad grades, bad evals, bad advancement.

Here's my example...a reverse example...I went to bootcamp, A-school and C-school with a guy named Richard Sweeney.

He sent his paychecks to his bank at home and lived off his chow hall pass, for 6 years. He had ,000 in the bank when he got out.

That was back when we made 0 a week.

      TD

  2. QUESTION:
I am joining the military and was wondering what type of drug testing they use?
I passed a piss test i bought from walgreen's.So i was wondering if the ones they use are more accurate. I have recently just quit smoking weed its only been about ten days. Please keep your criticism to your self don't want to hear it
    UCMJ?

    • ANSWER:
They will do further testing at MEPS with a blood test. I would wait a full 30 days to be safe. UCMJ is the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It's what they punish you with.

  3. QUESTION:
Wondering what my chances are to pass the UA test at Meps?
Help I am 6-2 160 pounds and recently smoked weed about 2 weeks ago
i am currently running, taking cranberry pills, and drinking lots of water. I have a piss test in a week. What are my odds of passing?

    • ANSWER:
Listen to me bro. You 'should' be fine. I smoked 22 days before my test at meps. i was stressin out bad about it, i for sure thought i would fail. i weigh about the same but im only 5 11. i dunno if it's just because i have a fast metabolism or if it's because of what i did before the test. but heres what i did, i recommend you try to do the same. the over the counter stuff don't really work and its a waste of money. i bought a bottle of 250mg niacin, took two everyday a week prior to going. along with drinking 1 gallon of water a day. as well as cranberry pills. the day you leave your house to go to meps..drink 32 oz of tea. just plain tea. the day of meps i woke up at 3 in the morning (1 hour before wake up call) and drank 4 bottles of water, along with taking 2 more niacin pills. i had to piss allday at meps. the UA wasn't until 10am. You'll be fine. ( i also ran and jump roped 2 weeks before) jump rope all you can man. good luck.

  4. QUESTION:
Will I have to take another drug test at MEPS?
I'm going back MEPS on the 26th for a console. I have to talk to a doctor about alcohol abuse, due to a DUI charge. I already took my physical and passed a piss test. Will I have to take another test this time?

    • ANSWER:

  5. QUESTION:
How long does it take for waiver for the army?
I have to get a waiver because of the protien levels were to high on my piss test. about how long does this procces take

    • ANSWER:
Way back when when I took my physical in Boston, MA to enlist in the USAF I had protein (albumin) in my urine. They gave me the option to return to the Boston Navy Yard (from Providence, RI) to urinate morning and afternoon for 3 consecutive days to determine that it was not a medical issue. Here is what Army Regulation 40--501 "Standards of Medical Fitness" that is the Bible for physical exams performed at MEPS. Specifically here is the applicable section relating to "protein in the urine":

      g. Current or history of proteinuria (791.0) (greater than 200 milligrams (mg)/24 hours; or a protein to creatinine
ratio greater than 0.2 in a random urine sample, if greater than 48 hours after strenuous activity) is disqualifying, unless
consultation determines the condition to be benign orthostatic proteinuria.

I would assume that there was something in your medical history that in conjunction with your elevated protein levels indicated a more severe, disqualifying medical condition.

Something does not ring true with your question as asked. Most recruiters I ever knew would ensure that a repeat urinalysis and urological consultation were done right away to get your enlistment processed.

A large part of my USAF job was conducting physical exams on flying personnel and twice weekly we used to do 10 Military Academy/ROTC physicals for DODMERB. Those were Flying Class I exams which are the most stringent in the military. I used to work hand in hand with recruiters and something potentially benign like protein in urine would have been addressed immediately if you were otherwise qualified.

I got in to the USAF when my enlistment physical status was changed from disqualified to "passing" after 6 urinalysis tests.

      Good luck to you.

  1. QUESTION:
Took a home drug test and passed will i pass the next?
i smoked about three weeks ago which is rare, i barely ever smoke thats not for me but i did any way, im going to MEPS (joining the army) this thursday and i know i have to take a drug test, so i took a home drug test and i passed with flying colors... will i pass the MEPS drug test?

    • ANSWER:
You should be golden, man. I smoked out a 'one time only' deal and had a drug test one month later and passed. This was HAIR FOLLICLE (which goes back even farther than pee) at that!

  2. QUESTION:

  3. QUESTION:
How do people fail the drug test at basic training but pass the meps drug test?
My friend got kicked out of the marines in bt because he popped positive on the drug test they gave him, but he said he passed at meps the day he shipped out, he also said he wasnt the only one, how does this happen?

    • ANSWER:
Different meds can cause 'false postives'. Thats why you need to disclose if you have taken any drugs (illegal or prescription!)
You would be surprised at how many OTC drugs will cause you to pop up positive! otc cough medicine will for one! (thats why they tell you not to take any the night before you go to meps!)
So either your friend did some sort of drugs between the time he left meps and landed, or he took some otc meds on the plane or something.

      Good luck

  5. QUESTION:
Would a person who passed an at home drug test pass a meps test?
It's been 46 days since me and my brother last smoked. We have stepped up our game and have been excercising untill we drip sweat, we take niacin, and only drink water, should we be clean for the meps drug test? This is our first time going.

    • ANSWER:
46 days sounds very good and if you pass a home test you be good to go
btw if you home test your self the best is to check the first morning pee , urine have the highest concentration and result will be real.

I've already been to meps and passed the physical there but I wasn't taking creatine. I have a few months before I ship to boot camp and was wondering if it shows up on the next urine test, will it get me sent back home?

    • ANSWER:
Lol... no creatine isn't an illegal substance, i never took it, but it won't show up on a urine test... if you're worried ask your recruiter, but no, if it was a steroid, then yes... but creatine isn't a steroid, it's just something that builds water weight, doesn't really make you stronger, just makes you retain water weight.... it'd be like taking protein, it's just a natural substance.

  5. QUESTION:
How do I pass my Urine test for MEPS( military)?
I need to pass military urine test. I smoked alot!!! I have been c,ean for 3 days. What can I do?? I really did quit smoking but I am worried because I need to be clean now.
